If you haven't noticed, the site has been kinda slow lately, especially during peak usage hours. So, what's up with it?
We've recently turned on the option to use UTF-8 encoding across the site, which enables us to lay the foundation for internationalization, but in turn, consumes more system resources than originally expected. To combat this, we've switched some processes so that they work on some of the more idle servers.
We have ordered more servers that will arrive soon, but for now we're doing the best we can.
On a side note, please read this news post if you haven't set your encoding options yet.
