Livejournal unresponsiveness tonight

At 8:20pm PDT (GDT -07:00) earlier this evening, the site became slow and unresponsive. This was worked on immediately by our engineers, and performance was brought back to normal within 30 minutes. This was an unexpected outage caused by complications related to a hardware failure. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to implement improvements in this area.
